No site of mine could possibly exist without an homage page to the one I consider the actual “Genesis” ( no apology for the pun! ) of my career as a drummer and the actual person who made me discover and realize my drumming ability at the first place. As a practicing Hindu, I regard and consider Sri (Mr) Phil Collins as my Guru – my Teacher, Master, not only for drumming and music but also as a complete life inspiration. Therefore, as per Dharmic (Hindu) tradition, I offer to Master Drummer /Musician Phil Collins the appropriate respect by having this page in His honour.

The first music I actually got into was Genesis, and the first album I ever bought (after long hours of hard work weeding the family garden in order to earn the money to buy the said record), was Invisible Touch. I was 15. Though I had loved other Genesis/Phil Collins tracks since I was 7, I had not realised until then that all these songs were by the same people!
The first concert I ever saw was Genesis on the Invisible Touch tour, at the Montreux Golden Rose Festival, where they did an unscheduled appearance with a downscaled stage, in the tiny Casino de Montreux hall, and that concert changed my life for ever. I walked out (well flew out really) of the concert knowing, at last what I was destined to do: BEING A DRUMMER ! I never looked back since and through Mr Phil’s inspiration, I am still at it today!

I am very lucky and blessed to have been encouraged in my efforts over the years since 2001, by Mr Phil himself, through letters and other kind messages and comments about my work, as well as having met him several times.

In 2001, I undertook the task of beating the then World Record in non stop drumming, in aid of Children In Need, as a tribute to Mr Phil Collins and I achieved my goal and claimed the new record. To find out more about this project, please go there.

Since I was 15, I had a little dream: to one day perform with Mr Collins on a project, live or studio. However, since He is not doing any musical projects for the moment, I do not know whether my dream will ever come true but regardless of that, I will always strive to represent and carry on His unique tradition to the best of my abilities and beyond…and keep the dream alive.

” someone once said that if you truly, truly believe you can make things happen ”

~ Phil Collins

Talking about dreams, please visit and give your support to Mr Phil’s charity ” The Little Dreams Foundation”, which has been created to help children from under privileged backgrounds fulfilling their dreams within the artistic and sports domains, by providing them with a framework and support as well as adequate training and facilities in order to give them the best possible chances of achieving their dreams. LDF  also supports disabled youngsters.

To Sri Phil: no words can ever express my gratitude, but for what it is worth: Thank you !

JAI GURUDEV ! JAI PHIL COLLINS! OM SHANTI!
